Hillside has evolved into a unique and special learning facility, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our supporters, donors and community members. Our dedicated teachers GIVE students knowledge, tools and skills daily. Are you willing to GIVE back?
Being a non-profit, we depend on our supporters to maintain and improve Hillside. With this help we have been able to maintain and enhance our programs with the best resources and innovative technology as well as increase scholarship funds to make it affordable for more families.
The Hillside School offers a complete, accredited and college-focused 4-year high school program, as well as a complete and accredited 3-year middle school program for students who thrive in a personalized learning environment. We serve students from all over the San Gabriel and San Fernando Valleys. We have students from La Cañada, La Crescenta, Pasadena, Altadena, Arcadia, Glendale, Burbank, Eagle Rock, Sunland/Tujunga, Sun Valley and more!
The Hillside School offers challenging classwork for students with motivational and educational disabilities. Our small class sizes and focused teaching techniques permit us to motivate students beyond their expectations. Students are prepared for college or employment after graduation.
The Hillside School and Learning Center utilizes four proven scholastic techniques to reach and empower students to achieve beyond their challenges. Small class sizes, one-to-one teaching, positive reinforcement and psychological services work together to help and motivate students who have disengaged from learning–whether due to psychological or educational factors. Some students may be dealing with ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, processing disorders or known as twice-exceptional students. Many students have experienced special education in their school and the needs were not fully met. Some students have attended non-traditional settings such as homeschooling or independent study and are ready for a change.
The mission of The Hillside School and Learning Center is to provide an intimate environment in which students are guided by a committed faculty and staff to obtain the academic knowledge, the life skills, and the self-confidence to pursue a post-high school education, vocational education or meaningful employment to be productive and successful citizens.
The Hillside School offers full time, dual enrollment & night school options in several core subjects. All students benefit from our unique combination of small class size, commitment to individualized learning, knowledgeable faculty, advanced educational technology, and strong supportive services including counseling and tutoring.
