All gifts made to The Hillside School and Learning Center support efforts to develop and maintain a challenging curriculum reflective of our mission to provide the highest quality education for our students. Annual Fund Drive
Every year, The Hillside School and Learning Center conducts an Annual Fund Drive, starting October 1. This year the goal is $80,000.00.
Offering a truly focused and personalized education to students with learning challenges requires adequate and consistent financial resources. Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of our effort, so we depend on fund-raising to sustain the excellence of our programs.
It is through the generous gifts of parents, grandparents, foundations, corporations and other supporters that we are able to reach beyond basic classroom education and facilities maintenance.
These gifts make possible everything from construction of new facilities to field trips, technology upgrades, tuition assistance for families in need, and improved teacher training. Perhaps most important, this assistance provides the seed money we need to begin new programs; Our art program, academic counseling program and psychological counseling program all started with a donation.
Personal giving plays a particularly crucial role. We are fortunate to have enjoyed tremendous support over many decades from parents, family, and friends of students, as well as members of the community who understand that The Hillside School and Learning Center is a key community resource.
The Hillside School earns money every time you launch an Internet search when you set your default search engine to GoodSearch. It’s a Yahoo-powered search engine, online shopping mall and dining program that contributes 50% of its revenue to the nonprofit or school designated by its users. The money comes from the search engine advertisers, merchants and participating restaurants. According to the company’s website, as of October 2012, more than 107,000 non-profits are participating in the program and more than $9 million has been donated. Go to goodsearch.com for more information.
Every year, our Parent Teacher Organization, in conjunction with our faculty, staff and Board of Directors holds a Gala Event to raise money for our Annual Fund Drive. Activities have included entertainment at The Ice House in Pasadena, dinner dances, patio parties and more. It’s a wonderful evening with a great turnout and a chance to meet other Hillside parents, as well as our Board and faculty, in a social setting.
In-Kind Donations & Gifts
We encourage community businesses, as well as our parent and supporters, to contribute goods and services in-kind.
