Welcome to The Hillside School and Learning Center!
When students are struggling, they deserve a school option as soon as possible.
We serve students in grades 6 - 12, with continuous enrollment throughout the school year.
Our commitment to personalized education means that students can begin when
they're ready, even if it's mid-year or mid-semester.

We take an evidence-based, student-focused approach.

No student is lost in the crowd at Hillside.

Small Class Sizes

With class sizes of around eight students, all Hillside students receive a personalized education.

Our teachers are able to provide the right level of attention and direction to individual students while moving the group forward to meet goals and requirements.

More personal interactions with fewer distractions.

One-to-One Teaching

One-to-one classes are a great opportunity to take an extra elective, make up missing credits, or get dedicated help for a tough subject.

The lesson plan, pace, and schedule are tailored to the individual student, with undivided attention from the instructor.

A proven strategy for achieving better outcomes.

Positive Reinforcement

Positive reinforcement is a powerful way to encourage desired behavior in the classroom and beyond.

A consistent, sincere approach helps build self-confidence and internal motivation.

Professional support for mental health and wellbeing.

One-on-One Counseling

Carol Maskin, our MFT and psychotherapist, plays an essential role in supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of our students.

We are also experienced at partnering with parents, individual therapists, and other caregivers to provide more complete support to students.
